Cranberry Brie Honey Nut Pastry Appetizers

This easy yet elegant looking appetizer (that can probably be served as a dessert), is made with phyllo dough, layered with Brie cheese, cranberry sauce and nuts drizzled with honey 🍯. They are so pretty and a breeze to make and assemble.

A simple scrumptious appetizer that is perfect Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Holidays !

INGREDIENTS: Serves 8

12 thawed sheets of phyllo dough

8 oz. (225 g) Brie Cheese

1/2 cup cranberry sauce (store bought or homemade)

1/2 cup pistachios (roughly chopped)

1/2 cup pecans (roughly chopped)

4 tablespoons of melted butter(for brushing the phyllo dough sheets)

Honey 🍯 for drizzling

DIRECTIONS: Oven Temperature 375 F (190 C)

1) Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

2) Lay one sheet of phyllo dough and lightly brush it with the melted butter 🧈. Layer another sheet on top and brush more butter. Repeat until you have stacked 6 sheets.

3) Cut the stack into rectangles (4”x4” / 10.15 cm x 10.15 cm). Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

4) Bake in a preheated oven at 375 F (190 C) for 8-10 minutes, or until crispy and light golden brown. we ended up going a tad too golden. Assemble straight away to keep warmth.

ASSEMBLING THE APPETIZER:

1) Place one warm baked phyllo rectangle on a serving tray. Layer with sliced Brie cheese, a spoonful of heated cranberry sauce, sprinkle of chopped nuts and drizzle with honey.

Top with another phyllo rectangle, garnish with more mixed nuts and another drizzle of honey 🍯.

2) Repeat the assembling process with the rest of the phyllo rectangles.

3) Serve immediately

A delicious appetizer that has all the flavours of the holidays! We also love that this is a vegetarian appetizer that everyone can enjoy 😉!

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays to all !
