Lemon Taralucci Cookies for the Holidays

Ingredients:
attn: i say 5 cups of flour in the video but that was an error, its really ⤵️
6 cups A/P (all purpose) flour 1100 grams
1/2 container 272 grams 1/2 container = 272 grams of regular Crisco (NOT butter flavoured) *note you can also use butter as a replacement should you not have vegetable shortening.
1 1/2 cup of sugar 300 grams
1 cup milk 240 grams
2 teaspoons baking powder 8 grams
3 eggs at room temperature 150 grams
zest of 2 lemons finely grated
Makes approx. 36 cookies
Frosting:
2-3 cups of icing sugar
The juices of 2 lemons 🍋
Directions
Preheat oven at 350 F.
Add your sifted flour and baking powder to the mixing bowl and then add your cubed Crisco
and mix until the dough is crumbly.



add lemon zests, sugar, eggs & milk until combined





Lightly flour your working surface & continue to work your dough with your hands.
Devide dough in 2 and shape into logs.
Cut logs into strips of 1 1/2 inches and shape into cookie and lay on baking sheet 2 inches apart-


These bake for 15 mins or until golden brown.
Let fully cool before frosting!


Store the taralucci in an air tight container for 2 weeks or in the freezer
for up to 3 months.
