Deliciously Cool Jell-o Gelatin Desserts For Summer Fun!

Summertime! Summertime! Summertime!


We will be sharing and showing you 2 recipes that I (Franca) kept from the late 70’s, from the inside of a Jell-O gelatin package … lol 😂… OR we would cut out recipes from magazines 😂

These 2 desserts are simple, quick, inexpensive, refreshing and light tasting desserts perfect for all ages ! Oh, and did I mention, colourful! These desserts are so festive and can be made at Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day and kids birthday parties, simply by topping the desserts to reflect the occasions.


Mixing up the flavours (exp. lemon 🍋 and lime 🍋‍🟩) and colours is another great idea!


INGREDIENTS: Jello Parfait Dessert

NOTE: you can substitute the Dream Whip with Cool Whip or whipping cream for both desserts)

1 package Jell-O gelatin (85g/3.25 ozs.) your choice of flavour

We used cherry flavour 🍒

500 ml (2 cups) water

2 envelopes of Dream Whip (85g/3.5 ozs.)

1 cup (250 ml) milk

1 tablespoon (5ml) vanilla extract


DIRECTIONS:


Prepare Jell-O according to package instructions. Making sure that the gelatin has completely dissolved before adding the cold water.

Spoon Jell-O mixture into your dessert glasses.

 Place glasses at an angle until the Jell-O is set enough for mousse mixture to be added.


For the beautiful slanted look, Place the glasses in a foil lined baking dish so that when placed to set in the fridge it will set at an angle.


OR


simply place a wired rack and tilt the glasses against the side of the fridge on the wired rack.

Reserve 1/3 of the Jell-O and chill for 30-35 minutes.

5) Using and electric hand mixer, prepare the Dream Whip by following the package instructions. Add the reserved chilled Jell-O and mix well till you achieve a pretty pink colour.

6) Add the mousse into the chilled tilted dessert glasses and refrigerate until ready to serve.

7) OPTION: Top with more whipped cream and garnish with fresh fruits 🍒


INGREDIENTS: “Magical” Layered Jell-O Dessert

1 box Jell-O gelatin (85g/3.25 ozs.) your choice of flavour

We used blueberry 🫐

500 ml(2 cups) water

2 envelopes of Dream Whip (85g/3.5 ozs.)

250 ml (1 cup) milk

1 tablespoon (5ml) vanilla extract


DIRECTIONS:

1) Prepare Jell-O according to package instructions. Making sure that the gelatin has dissolved before adding the cold water.

2) With an electric hand mixer, prepare the Dream Whip following the package instructions.

3) Add the whipped cream into the Jell-O (increments of 2-3) with a whisk, mix well

in between every addition.

4) Pour into dessert glasses and chill for a minimum of 1 1/2 hours. The dessert will

layer as it chills.

5) OPTIONS: Top with more whipped cream and garnish with fresh fruits 🫐 ENJOY ☺️
